Next Steps Kindy is dedicated in providing an excellent team of caring, qualified educators who are passionate about developing little lives to their full potential, and who work alongside parents to nurture and inspire children. We use the National Early Years Learning Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines to guide our curriculum which is influenced by our Christian Ethos.
Holistic Education
Our curriculum is guided by the National Early Years Learning Framework and is play based. We have a holistic approach to education and pay attention to children’s physical, personal, social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing as well as cognitive aspects of learning. We recognise the connections between children, families and communities and the importance of reciprocal relationships and partnerships for learning. As a ministry of Nexus Church, we operate from a Christian ethos which recognises each child’s unique value and worth, and cultivates respect and care for one another. We believe that the development of each child, in body, mind and spirit, will prepare them for a successful schooling future.
Friendly and Secure Environment
We believe that children learn best when they feel safe and secure, and enjoy their environment. We will work closely with you to develop secure relationships with your child. This will give them the confidence to learn and grow in an environment where they feel emotionally safe and secure. At Next Steps Kindy we offer your child brand new architecturally designed facilities, indoor and outdoor play areas, and developmentally appropriate resources as well as access to technology (including interactive whiteboards). To ensure your child’s safety, and your peace of mind, the facility provides secure access, with each parent given individual swipe access. Our centre air-conditioning ensures your child’s comfort during times of extreme temperatures.
Community Engagement
Next Steps Kindy is fortunate to be sharing an exciting campus with Nexus Church and Northside Christian College. Opportunities for supervised learning interaction, and engaging with wider community perspectives, means children at Next Steps will enjoy a rich environment.
Parent Involvement
Children thrive when families and educators work together in partnership to support young children’s learning. Parents are welcome to participate in their child’s learning experience and we encourage your involvement. There are many ways to do this and we will work with you to give you as many opportunities as possible to participate in our program and your child can be assured of an encouraging and inspiring experience.
